Exotic Escapes Dream Vacation Sweepstakes

ELIGIBILITY: The Sweepstakes is open and offered only to legal U.S. citizens, and who have reached the age of majority in his/her state of residence at the time of entry (the “Entrants”). Employees, officers and representatives of Sponsor, Administrator, and any of their respective parent companies, affiliates, franchisees, licensees, distributors, suppliers, subsidiaries, retailers, advertising/promotion agencies and members of the immediate family (mother, father, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters and spouse, regardless of where they reside) and household members of each such employee, whether or not related, are not eligible to participate. Winning a Prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein. Void outside of United States, (including D.C.), and where prohibited or restricted by law.

HOW TO ENTER: The Sweepstakes begins at 12:00:01 a.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) on January 21, 2014 and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. ET on March 16, 2014 (“Sweepstakes Period”). The Sponsor’s database computer is the official time-keeping device for the Sweepstakes. During the Sweepstakes Period, Entrants can access yankeecandle.com/vacation (the “Website”) and follow the links and entry instructions on the Website. Entrants will be asked to provide their first name, last name, complete mailing address, phone number, and valid e-mail address. Entrants must complete all information requested in the information fields. Each completed registration form will result in one (1) Sweepstakes entry. Once submitted, an entry cannot be deleted, canceled, amended or modified. Entrants must enter using only an e-mail address subscribed and registered in your name. Limit one (1) Entry per person per email address during the Sweepstakes Period. Any violation or attempt to violate this restriction may cause Sponsor to disqualify all of such person’s eligible entries. All entries must be received by 11:59:59 p.m. ET on March 16, 2014, in order to be eligible.

PRIZES & PRIZE CONDITIONS: There will be one (1) Grand Prize, ten (10) First Prizes, and one hundred (100) Second Prizes awarded.

The Grand Prize Winner, upon the Administrator’s confirmation of eligibility, will receive a spa 5 day/4 night trip for two (2) people to the Grand Cayman Islands (the “Location”). The Grand Prize package includes: (a) Two hundred and forty thousand American Airlines AAdvantage miles which may be used for travel on American Airlines or its “Airline Associates” (American Eagle or the American Connection carrier) from any city served by American Airlines or its Airline Associates in the 48 contiguous United States to the Location. Travel must originate and end at the airport nearest Grand Prize Winner’s home that is served by American Airlines or its Airline Associates. Approximate retail value (“ARV”): $4,776; (b) hotel accommodations for four (4) nights (one double occupancy room; room and tax only), (c) a $2,000 cash stipend, and (d) one (1) $500 Yankee Candle gift card. The ARV of the total prize package is $9,776 which will vary depending upon points of departure and destination and seasonal fluctuation of hotel rates and airfares. All other expenses not specifically mentioned herein, including but not limited to, airport taxes and fees, baggage fees, ground transportation not specifically delineated, food, beverages, additional hotel amenities or fees and gratuities, are the responsibility of the Grand Prize Winner and traveling companion. Sponsor is not responsible for any cancellations, delays, diversions or substitutions or any act or omissions whatsoever by the air transportation carriers, hotels or other transportation companies or any other persons providing any of these services and accommodations necessitated by same. Sponsor shall not be liable for any loss or damage to baggage and/or personal property. All travel dates are subject to change in Sponsors’ sole discretion and flight availability to the Grand Prize Winners’ destination; If the actual value of prize is lower than the stated ARV when prize is procured and fulfilled, then the difference will not be awarded. Travel, hotel and other accommodations are subject to availability. Travel companion must be 21 years of age or older. The Grand Prize Winner and traveling companion must travel on same itinerary. The trip must be fully executed no later than March 15, 2015, or the Grand Prize will be forfeited. Expiration date cannot be extended. Certain blackout dates and material restrictions may apply.

Each First Prize Winner will receive the entire Exotic Escape candle collection (FIVE large jar candles per winner). Each First Prize has an ARV of $139.50. Each Second Prize Winner will receive one (1) large jar candle from the Exotic Escape candle collection (Fragrance TBD; Sponsor’s discretion). Each Second Prize has an ARV of $27.99. Total Prize Pool – $13,970. No substitution, assignment or transfer of the Prize is permitted, except by Sponsor, who reserves the right to substitute the Prize or any Prize component with another of comparable or greater value provided, however, no such substitute prize shall be from American Airlines without its prior written consent..
By accepting a Prize, the Prize Winners agree to release and hold harmless the Released Parties, each of their related companies, and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, shareholders, and agents from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Sweepstakes or receipt or use of the Prize in question. The potential Grand Prize Winners will be notified by home-delivered mail, phone, or email, and must sign and return to the Administrator, within seven (7) days of the date of notice or attempted notice is sent, an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability & Publicity Release in order to claim his/her Prize. The Grand Prize Winner’s travel companion must also execute and return a Travel Companion Waiver. Note: The Affidavit sent to the potential Grand Prize Winner will require that the Winner provide their Social Security Number to the Administrator, which will be used solely for tax reporting purposes. The Prize Winners will each be responsible for all local, state, and federal taxes associated with the receipt of their Prize. The Grand Prize Winner must note that the value of the accepted prize is taxable as income and an IRS Form 1099 will be filed in the name of the Winner for the value of the prize and the Winner is solely responsible for all matters relating to the prize after it is awarded. If a Prize or Prize notification is returned as unclaimed or undeliverable to the potential Prize Winner, if the potential Prize Winner cannot be reached via phone within five (5) business days from the first notification attempt, or if the potential Prize Winner fails to return requisite document(s) within the specified time period, or if potential Prize Winner is not in compliance with these Official Rules, then such person shall be disqualified and, at Sponsor’s sole discretion, an alternate Prize Winner may be selected for the Prize at issue.

PRIZE DETAILS AND RELATED TERMS. One (1) Grand Prize Winner will receive 240,000 American Airlines AAdvantage miles which may be used for round-trip air transportation for two, air transportation on American Airlines or its “Airline Associates” (American Eagle or the American Connection carrier), oneworld airlines or select AAdvantage participating airlines, car rentals, hotel stays and other awards available at AA.com/redeem, the (“Prize”). ARV of all Prizes: $9,776.. If AAdvantage miles are redeemed for air transportation; Winner is responsible for the full cost of transportation to and from their departure and arrival city. Winner is responsible for any and all applicable fees, service charges, surcharges or passenger facility charges and all insurance costs, federal, state, local and foreign taxes, if any, gratuities, meals, incidentals and any other unspecified expenses associated with acceptance or use of the Prize. AAdvantage flight awards are subject to, and the passenger is responsible for, the September 11th Security Fee of up to $10 per round-trip, applicable departure taxes, federal inspection fees, passenger facility charges of up to $18.00, depending on itinerary, and any other taxes and fees imposed by a government entity (U.S. or foreign) of up to $240 based on destination; total may vary slightly based upon currency exchange rate at time of purchase, as well as any fees or surcharges (including fuel surcharges) imposed by the carrier. U.S. government excise tax is a user tax to pay for airport construction and airway safety and operations. If ticketing is less than 21 days prior to departure, a $75.00 expedite charge will apply (waived for AAdvantage  Executive Platinum, AAdvantage Platinum and AAdvantage Gold members using miles from their account). A ticketing service charge of up to $35.00 will apply when ticketing via Reservations, American Airlines Travel Center or an Airport Ticket Office. (The ticketing service charge is waived for involuntary changes, reissued tickets, AAdvantage award tickets issued within 21 days of travel and an expedite charge has been collected, AAirpass  tickets, Government/military fare tickets, and prepaid tickets.) Some of these taxes, fees and other amounts may be due upon booking/ticketing the AAdvantage award travel. American Airlines AAdvantage miles will be credited to the AAdvantage account of each Winner, who must provide a valid AAdvantage membership number in order to receive the mileage credit. American Airlines AAdvantage miles awarded in this promotion will not count toward elite status qualification, AAdvantage Million Milersm status or any other promotional benefit that American Airlines may offer in the AAdvantage program. The credited miles may thereafter be redeemed in any manner consistent with the AAdvantage program Terms and Conditions, which are subject to change at any time without notice and can be found at www.aa.com/aadvantage when you click on Program Details and then click on AAdvantage Terms and Conditions. Determination of income tax liability on AAdvantage travel awards is the responsibility of the Winner. American Airlines may, among other things, (i) withdraw, limit, modify, or cancel any award; (ii) change program benefits, mileage levels, participant affiliations, conditions of participation, rules for earning, redeeming, retaining or forfeiting mileage credit, or rules for the use of travel awards; or (iii) add travel embargo dates, limit the number of seats available for award travel (including, but not limited to, allocating no seats on certain flights) or otherwise restrict the continued availability of travel awards or special offers. American Airlines reserves the right to change the AAdvantage program and its terms and conditions at any time without notice, and to end the AAdvantage program with six months’ notice.
